Finca La Pica Gran Reserva

DOC RIOJA. 13,5% Vol.


Finca La Pica Gran Reserva is the result of a careful selection of the best vineyard situated in Fuenmayor, in Rioja Alta. The varieties present in this wine are Tempranillo (70 %), Graciano (20%), and Mazuelo (10%).


After passing through the sorting table, the alcoholic fermentation takes place for 15 days. Then, the wine is racked to another tank by carrying out the malolactic fermentation. During the first year, underwent racking every three months as a previous step to its aging in American oak barrels, of 5 to 10 years old. Once completed the ageing process in barrels during 4 years, the wine is bottled and the bottles are placed horizontally in wooden crates of 500 bottles each, where it remains a minimum of two years.

Tasting notes

Garnet colour with cooper rim. On the nose, it displays elegant aromas of dates, spices and tobacco. In the mouth it is tasty, fresh, with round and well structured tannins and long finish. Chocolate and vanilla on the palate.


The perfect accompaniment to all kinds of meats, stews, roasts, and mature cheese. Best served at 18 °C. Recommend opening half-hour before consumption.



Finca la Pica, also has the origin of an old estate owned by the heir family. They made wines for more than four generations. The farm has its own emblem, where you can see its initials and a royal crown.


Within the denomination Finca la Pica, we find the whole range of dried. Young, white and red to servants, crianza, reserva and gran reserva. This brand has focused on export channels, especially in the United States.
